Short
Reflection for the 2nd Sunday of the Ordinary Time (C)
(Philippines: The Fiesta of Sto. Nino)
Readings: Isaiah 49: 3., 5-6; 1 Corinthians
1: 1-3; John 1: 29-34
Selected
Gospel Passage: “The
next day he saw Jesus coming towards him and declared, ‘Here is the Lamb of God
who takes away the sin of the world! This is he of whom I said, “After me comes a
man who ranks ahead of me because he was before me.” (John 1: 29-30)
Reflection:
John the Baptist gives testimony that Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
Yes, Jesus is our Messiah and Lord. Through Him, with Him and in Him, we receive life
and forgiveness of sins. We are now witnesses of God’s liove fully revealed in
Jesus Christ.
Note: I follow the universal calendar, because many
members of the dhikr chain of prayer are non resident of the Philippines. In the Philippines, the 2nd Sunday
of the year is dedicated to the Feast of Sto. Nino (the Child Jesus)
